After narrowly missing out with a few runners from our last blog I am delighted to update with another winner, Red Unico, back at his favourite track, Wolverhampton, under regular pilot and ace apprentice Josh Bryan he ran out a very brave winner from an almost impossible draw under a superbly confident ride. Stall 12 of 12 over 7 furlongs at Wolverhampton is pretty tricky, especially when you have a horse that has to be ridden in the first three, but top marks to Josh he was out the gates like a bullet and was infront by the first bend, going hard up front with another he struck the front turning in and was not for catching, a great ride and a brave horse, he deserved his win as he is very consistent, especially at Wolverhampton, having been second on his previous two visits to the track for us, bumping in to very well handicapped horses both times. This was an even bigger celebration as he was transfered into the ownership of The Golden Horse Racing Club for the day, they have a very nice filly with us called Golden Muscade, after handicapping her she went a bit weak, at 17h and only 3 she needed backing off so we thought it would be nice if Carl and his members could have a nice evening out racing, and it was even better to give them a winner, their first winner with us and hopefully the first of many. They are a great racing club and all 28+ members that were there on Tuesday looked like they had a fantastic time which is great! Red Unico heads to Tattersalls HIT next Monday, but we will happily bring him home if he doesnt make his money, he will carry on running and picking up money all through the winter, he is no hassle and great to have about!

Spillers Dream ran a cracker at Exeters first meeting back in a competitive beginners chase on ground that would be far too quick for him and he also pulled off a front shoe so to finish 3rd we were very happy, a much better run than his first one for us. He will pick up one or two in the coming months on softer ground.

My Brother Sylvest headed to Wincanton for a confidence booster, after I am sure you all saw his awful tumble at Plumpton that really knocked his confidence, it was very nasty and has taken plenty of hard work and TLC to get him back to a happy Sylvester, a big well done to Jess who rides him every day and loves him to bits, it was great to see him jump so well and look so happy to be back racing, finishing third giving weight and a lot of years to the first and second we were proud to see him back to normal, he is brave as a lion and a big favourite here, there will be plenty more races in him this season.

We welcomed another two horses into the yard last week, Henry, he has been here before before going home to fill out for the summer, he is a massive, strapping, old fashioned looking chaser that we are looking forward to getting going, I believe he will do well through the winter and is looking for a new owner! He is available for lease, shares or to buy outright, he shouldnt be missed as he has quality written all over him and as we have had him before we know he can gallop too!

The other is a lovely looking gelding, a 5yr old, very well bred having a French Champion hurdle winner closely related. He is a fine looking individual that could make a nice bumper prospect after Christmas, he is also for sale, lease or syndication. both these horses are sound, quality horses that I am sure will win many races between them. Please get in touch for more info.

Time to start clipping again, and get the duvets out, Daisy hates it but she doesnt let anyone else near the clippers!

This week we welcomed back an old face, Catriona, she was with us for over a year before and due to different reasons went home to Ireland but has now come back and we are delighted to have her, she is a great addition to the yard.

A few runners this week, Newton Abbot and Cheltenham, both should have good chances.

I shall update after the manic week at Tattersalls HIT!
