Great news, as I am sure you are all aware Follow The Tracks headed to Taunton on Monday, only 15 days after a hard race at Southwell on heavy ground. We had to run him as he seemed in fine form at home and it looked as though he would get some suitable ground for a change.....clearly something he was happy with as he duly bolted up by 18 lengths! Sent off the 5-2f he was given a fine front running ride by Mikey Heard and nothing got near him, his jumping was exceptional and we look forward to putting some pictures up soon! He will have other entries this week or so as he is due to go up a whopping 13lb, he has come out that race in good order and looks a picture, as long as we have his good ground he will be out again soon. Well done to all involved, a great team effort especially by Catriona and Daisy who ride him at home.
Madam Be ran in the same race but although jumping well and sticking to her task she found the ground just too soft for her, she is a slight mare and will appreciate the decent summer ground, when it eventually gets here!
Green Du Ciel also ran there in the handicap chase, we would have ideally waited another week with him but as things go, he ran and ran another solid race, getting placed again, not bad for an old ten year old that had been written off and not run for two years, thats now his third placed effort this season, I am sure he will have his turn in the limelight soon enough, he is an old warrior and always tries his best. The three runners from Taunton spent 3 thoroughly enjoyable days in the field after their runs and are back very fresh and looking well.
Cheltenham this week, and it has been some great racing so far! We were all absolutely delighted to see our regular jockey Gavin ride his first Grade 1 winner in the World Hurdle on the massively tough Cole Harden, a brillant ride and well done to all connections. Gold Cup day today, what a race it looks to be, we have a small interest with The Giant Bolster running, and we hope he runs another solid race. Our little 'mini' Bolster is in great form and went for another trip to Kempton yesterday with Tom Garner in the saddle, he came back and said the further she goes the better she is. Fingers crossed for a good run on her debut in a couple of weeks. She is a very spirited filly that loves her work and we look forward to running her.
We welcome another two members to our team with Lee and Emma, they have come down from Scotland and have both previously worked in racing yards.
We have plenty of runners in the next month or so with Green Du Ciel maybe at Taunton again on Monday, Follow The Tracks at maybe Exeter, Wincanton or Taunton. Madam Be will be heading wherever there maybe good ground. Robero and Ballyheigue head to Southwell on the 25th, Shanandoa at Wincanton and Under Review go's to Chelmsford City, he will be our first runner at the Essex track.
We will also be attending the Ascot Select Breeze up sales on the 1st April, if you may be interested in coming along or purchasing something then please dont hesitate to contact myself or Daisy to talk further.
Thanks for reading, all the best!
