Great to start this blog with a winner, Mowhoob finally came good for us under the fantastic Luke Morris. A great ride, he was badly interfered with turning in and it was a head bobber all the way to the line. Going to a photo finish and later a stewards enquiry we were eventually called the winner. A lovely little horse who deserved to win, with everything dropping right. Dayna who looks after him and Jess who drove them up there were absolutely delighted as they have had many a long journey to Chelmsford with the Hoob so to bring him back a winner was great. Top effort everyone involved! A winner is a big boost for everyone, especially in this weather!
Hurry Henry made his debut for the stable in the Listed Contenders Hurdle at Sandown, he won best turned out as Jess turned him out beautifully and he did his job to jump round and finish fourth to pick up valuable prize money for his owners and give them a great day out. He will now have time to settle down into our routine and will make a smashing chaser later this season.
All the horses are in great order at home, there will be plenty of runners in the coming weeks. Hopefully spring is on its way as our horses always seem to turn the corner come that time of year so fingers crossed the winners will keep coming.
We are now past our seasonal best for winners which is great as we have 5 months to go. We still have several really nice young horses for sale with some advertised on Racehorse Trader in the coming days where you can see pictures and more information.
We have said goodbye to a couple of horses this week, Desirable found a new home as a riding horse as I think she felt racing wasnt really for her any more! Sustainable Star & British Embassy have both moved on yet again to other yards....some owners are never happy! But best of luck to them all.
We have a new horse with new owners arriving Monday which is great news for the yard. We are nearing capacity now and are also looking for a full time member of staff...or two! So do get in touch if you would be interested!
Many thanks for reading yet again.
