The last couple of weeks has been very productive, some cracking efforts from the whole team, but too many are finishing second! We shouldnt complain as they are much better than thirds, fourths or fifth or maybe worse! They have to get there heads in front soon surely!

Head Space has been producing some great efforts of late, finishing 4th at Newbury in a good race and a fine 2nd at Chepstow after being outpaced for the first half he stayed on very well, from buying him as the most inconsistent horse there was he is now the most reliable having been placed 8 times from 12 runs!

Red Unico ran another cracker to be second again back at Wolverhampton, just being denied by a horse they heavily gambled. He has now finished second twice and we hope he can go one better at Lingfield on Saturday!

Buggi made her racecourse debut at Newton Abbott under Dickie Johnson, she is a filly that has been extremely difficult at home, testing everyones patiance as much as she could, but after bringing her along very slowly and basically ignoring all her antics it paid off and the last week before she went racing she changed and her behaviour improved significantly, she went to the races and behaved perfectly and after running green for much of the way she stayed on well to finish 4th. A great run and her connections were delighted. She will possibly go back there on Wednesday as there looks a good opening there in the bumper. She has come out of her race in good order and her behaviour has done nothing but improve! Well done to all the team!

Golden Muscade made her racecourse debut also, and running for the Golden Horse Racing Club she ran very respecively after also being very green, she is such a laid back character it will take her a run or two to sharpen up a bit! She does everything very nicely at home and we believe she has a bright future.

Madam Be went to Uttoxeter and ran another cracker to back up her first run, having been badly hampered twice during the race and being struck into and loosing both hind shoes she still finished 2nd! Very pleasing performance and I am sure she will be winning soon.

We welcomed another new horse and owner the other day, a lovely 2yr old colt by up and coming new sire Harbour Watch out of a winning mare. Owned by Paul Costelloe and Partners, so we are delighted to have them on board. He will be campaigned here, France and maybe even Sweden next year, starting off here through the winter. He looks a fast type and clocked a good time at the Goresbridge breeze up sale.

We also welcomed another new owner to the yard last week, Mr Robert Catchpole who has taken over My Brother Sylvest, this is his first horse and we are delighted he came to us and we wish him every success with his new horse. He will hopefully make his debut for us later on in the month.

We are having our first Owners Open Day on 28th August, this is the first time we have opened our doors to the public, we will have a parade of horses at 12pm followed by a demonstration of some sort, there will be food and refreshments available all day. It is aimed at any potential owners or people that would like to come and meet us and see what we have and our plans for the future. Please give us a call or send over an email if you would like to know more. It will be a great day!! 07826 867 881 brianbarrracing@hotmail.com
