We had a fairly quiet start to the week with not a lot happening on Monday or Tuesday, but on Wednesday we were up and about early, David was in to ride some work on Norfolk Sky as he will be riding her at Fontwell on Sunday. She is making her handicap debut there, so taking an extra 7lb off will be handy! We were all riding out early so we could get on our way to Doncaster, we had a fair list that we were going to look at, the drive was a long one but it seems to have been worth it.
On the Thursday we were looking at a few and our preference was for a lovely looking horse from Dermot Welds, in Ireland. After seeing off several other trainers and bloodstock agents we got him. Standing over 16.2 hes a big lad and has had only a handful of runs, being placed in a bumper at Galway, placed on the flat and over hurdles, he was a very promising 2nd at the Galway festival recently. Hes still a maiden but is sure to win soon, both on the flat and jumping. He was great travelling back and enjoyed a nice day in the field today with Tuffstuff, galloping round and round but they seemed to get on great!!
In the Crowd worked with Norfolk Sky on the Wednesday and he seems to have come on a load since his run, he travelled great and worked with her right to the end, so we are really happy with him! He should be running on Monday at Newton Abbot back in a handicap.
The new horse Martys Magic is now for sale to stay in the yard, he will be a really nice horse for someone and will be able to take them to all the good tracks. His picture will be up soon but please contact us if you would be interested in owning this very exciting prospect!!
