Its always great to headline a blog with a title like that!
The winners have been flowing nicely through the summer months, none more so or more impressive than Manor Park, who is now a hugely remarkable winner of four out his last five races! three times over hurdles under regular pilot Paddy Cowley and once on the flat, albeit his only flat start for us so far, so fingers crossed his winning run can continue, he has already climbed a whopping 28lb over hurdles. He is an absolute star and Daisy who rides him every day & the rest of the team have done a great job with him.
Katelli after two seconds on his first two starts for the yard we switched him back to the minumum trip as he was always just either getting caught late or not quite getting there over 6f and the switch to 5f paid dividends as he won his next two starts for owners Roofnet Ltd. A great result as he was still a maiden when coming to us from Richard Faheys, he will continue to progress I am sure, now up in class a return to 6f looks ideal.
The two horses mentioned above have won 6 races between them from just 8 starts since June this year, and both horses combined were purchased for 10k! We love what we do, finding horses that have lost their way or struggling a little and turning their form around, it has to be the most satisfying part of training.
Independence is proving to be Mr Consistent, from his severn starts to date he has only been out the placings once, and he nearly got there, after finishing 5th under a welter weight in a maiden on the level. He was never out the money in his four bumper runs, including an impressive victory and has since placed in both his novice hurdles, he will certainly be winning more races!
Epic Pass is relatively new to the yard but from three runs has been second twice, including in a class 3 at Goodwood, he is only a pony but will get his turn soon and may well even go jumping for his owners Roofnet.
We have a really nice bunch of winter horses coming through that will be ready to go from October or November, these include Dan McGrue, Benandgone, Saoirse Away, Group Stage, Mister Moretti, Chumlee, Tristan De Gane, Get Supreme, Dolciano Dici plus a couple of potentially lovely young horses. We always quieten down through the winter months but we feel we have a nice team for the season.
We are opening our doors on Sunday 12th September for the very first National Racehorse Week, 10am - 2pm. This should be a fun day to meet the team, meet the horses and see how it all goes together, racing is a huge industry that effects many peoples lives. We will have a BBQ on the go, hot & cold drinks, demonstrations and much more. If you would like to attend please email your details to email@example.com and we will reply to confirm.
We also have a vancany for a Head Person, starting middle of September. This is a very exciting position to be able to offer someone, the candidate needs to be able to work well within a team and lead a team. Experience driving a 3.5t horsebox would be good, ability to ride out isn't essential but preferable. Accommodation available. Flexible holidays, good rates of pay and bonuses. Driving licence a must. Good sense of humour and good work ethic also. Oppourtunities to travel the country racing, maybe even abroad and improve/learn and gain qualifications. If you feel you may be suitable please email the address above.
