Once again its been too long but at least this time I have lots of winners to discuss! As everyone, in every industry knows, its been a long winter! We have hit spring and the horses are in great order, which is brilliant. We have welcome several new owners to the yard so its all going well, fingers crossed we can keep moving forward and have a strong summer.
Manor Park had a good winter, making the long trip to Market Rasen well worth the while under a positive ride from Harriet Tucker he was not to be denied and made out a very comfortable winner. He then had several very good runs in defeat before the heavy ground was getting the better of him. He will continue through the summer and hopefully have some fun.
Anniemation, this little lad came to us with his confidence shot to peices and a bad wind issue plus a few other bits and bobs to iron out as well, now all fixed and after a step up in trip he came through the eye of a needle to win cosily at Lingfield under Rhys Clutterbuck. He then went down by the narrowest of margins at Chelmsford, as far as we and many other people are concerned it should have been called a dead heat, but not to be. he will continue to pay his way when he gets back on turf through the summer, only a pony he loves fast ground.
Independence, a very nice horse, a potentially very smart dual purporse in time. He, again, has had his issues but now he is turning into the finished article. After placing in his first two bumpers on the all weather at Lingfield, a track that wouldn't really suit he progressed again to make his turf debut a winning one, passing the whole field turning for home, quickening clear to win as he liked. A stunning individual, the future is bright with him. His future targets are yet to be decided.
Several others have also had some very good performances in recent weeks, Dolciano Dici was a fast finishing fourth at Cheltenhams April meeting at the huge price of 150-1 to beat some very nice types. He will now go to Haydock for their big Swinton meeting and be our first runner for new owner to the yard Paul Drinkwater, we are delighted to welcome Paul & his family to the team.
Katellli almost made the perfect start on his debut for the yard, also with new owners to the yard in Roofnet Limited when finishing a strong second to one thrown in at Wolverhampton, he will have his head in front soon for sure, and hopefully give his new owners lots of fun.
Delighted to have Trevor Whelan back in the UK and riding out once a week, he has done very well for us in the past and we will hopefully continue to have a fruitful partnership.
Foals are on the ground and lots of runners coming up, fingers crossed for some winners in there.
