Winter is coming....

We have been very quiet recently, as previously mentioned we had a few runners that under performed which we weren't happy about so we have taken the time and made a few very small changes and we now have a lot of horses ready to run, some old faces and some new as well so hopefully we can have a fruitful and healthy winter!

We have lots of young horses this year, something we normally lack a little so its always exciting leading up to their first runs!

The weather, as it has everywhere, been awful in the last couple of weeks but the team do a great job to keep the show on the road. We are very fortunate here to have such brilliant facilities that allow us to exercise the horses in any weather as well as being able to cope with it in other ways, we have drying rooms to make sure everything is dry, solariums to help the horses dry off and get a nice bit of heat on their backs as well - it all makes a difference and makes everyones jobs a little bit easier.

Its that time of year where the mares and foals start to be focused on some more now, the mares are in every night and out when the weather allows and the foals are growing very well! All mares have been scanned in foal which is good news, this year we only have the three to foal which is easier than the last few years! Covering stallions this year are Adaay, Ardaad & Haafhd so hopefully all goes smoothly!

Our first homebred yearling has just been broken and he looks an absolute cracker, a big, strong Hellvelyn colt. He looks like he will make every bit a two year old and he has been a pleasure to do, so hes one to look forward to.

We have recently sent one of our four year olds down to Chris Barbers point to point yard, one we are very excited about and he will be making his debut in early December, we felt is will be a good education for him and its also great to be able to support Chris as he has had a brilliant start with his pointers in the last couple of years and is certainly a name to keep an eye out for on the point to point circuit.

Hopefully in the next blog I will be able to update on some runners and potential runners going forward, meanwhile we always have a good selection of horses for sale, from yearlings to older handicap chasers, we have something for all so do get in touch to find out more.
